back story

After a foundation working as an art director for top New Zealand advertising agencies like M&C Saatchi, I broadened my horizons living and working in the UK.

Over twelve years abroad, including time with the renowned agency Publicis Langland, and many eclectic collaborations, steadily extended my capabilities and perspectives. Documentary film skills, digital experience, B2B campaigns, and many diverse projects fostered an adaptable, multi-disciplinary, and best-practice approach.

Since resettling in Aotearoa New Zealand, I have constantly sharpened my direction towards creative work that is grounded in the best of agency-style thinking and processes, but focused on inspiring and supporting positive change in the world. My post-graduate study in Leading Change for Good led to mahi such as a leadership role with Kiwis in Climate network, and working with Greenpeace Aotearoa in a tactics research project.

creative change

I thrive on amplifying the impact of change-making projects, with best-practice creativity. But equally, I love to elevate the potential of creative-led projects, with a change-making approach. What social or environmental good might lie beneath the surface of the brief, that could boost engagement and impact?

I call this being a Creative Change Director. I’m proud of the plethora of ads, design work, filmmaking, and campaigns I’ve been part of over the years. But 2024 is a bold new step where I am focusing energy on purpose-driven and change-making kaupapa. The case studies on this site reflect the best and more recent projects I’ve been privileged to lead and contribute to in this area.

CREATIVE LEADERSHIP

I’m passionate about empowering good creative, always championing robust briefs and deeper human-centric thinking before any cameras roll.

I also enjoy sharing the learnings from my career and projects. Most recently I was privileged to speak at Design Assembly’s ‘Design and Planet’ Autumn Gathering in Tāmaki Makaurau. While in the past, I have been flattered to be invited to contribute to the likes of the AUT Communication Design Major, UK magazine ‘Rockstar CMO’, and the thought leadership work of Italian/British visual studio Storo.

From insight to post-production, or from cosy collab to contract role; I’m always keen for a korero about how I can contribute.
